Psychotherapy for those ready to go deeper.

You’ve built a life that looks good from the outside. You’ve put your heart into your career, your relationships, even your mental health, yet something feels missing— a persistent sense that you’re living slightly out of step with who you really are.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

If this resonates, you are not alone.

Many successful, capable individuals find themselves asking, “Is this all there is?” This may even bring up shame when you can look around and see that you have the life you’ve always wanted but still something doesn’t feel right. You may sense that beneath your composed exterior lies unresolved pain, disconnection, or patterns that no longer serve you. Perhaps you’ve tried traditional therapy approaches that addressed symptoms but left deeper questions unanswered.

This feeling that something beneath the surface needs attention isn’t a weakness. It’s your psyche’s wisdom (your inner world) calling you toward authentic healing and genuine self discovery.

Let's talk.

I work with people who…

  • Feel like they “have it all together” but remain disconnected from their authentic self

  • Carry the weight of complex trauma that hasn’t been fully healed by traditional therapy

  • Navigate deep grief—whether for a loved one, lost potential, or the childhood you never had

  • Experience anxiety with roots that go deeper than today’s stressors

  • Sense the body holds tension, memories, or wisdom that the mind alone can’t unlock

  • Want to explore unconscious patterns—not just manage symptoms

  • Seek to understand how childhood experiences and relationships shape present-day life

I can relate to this!

My Approach: Where Science meets Soul

Carey Cook (she/her) graduated from Pacifica Graduate institute with specialized training in Depth psychotherapy—an approach that honors the complexity of the human experience and the wisdom of the unconscious mind. My work weaves together insights from neuroscience, attachment theory and somatic psychology to address not just what you think, but what you carry in your body and unconscious patterns.

My first five years of private practice were spent working with families and children, where I witnessed firsthand how early experiences shape our capacity for resiliency, connection, and expression. Recognizing that trauma lives not just in our memories, but in our nervous systems, I pursued extensive training in EMDR and spent nearly three years studying somatic psychotherapy.

Since 2011, I’ve specialized in helping individuals uncover the root patterns that create their current struggles because lasting changes requires more than just insight alone. It requires integration of mind, body and spirit. My intention is to have a practice that is inclusive for all genders, identities and backgrounds.

How can I help

  • Understanding how early bonds shape our present-day connections and choices.

  • Our bodies (in additional to our minds) hold into our memories and stories. Learning to tend to our bodies is often the missing piece to our healing and every day resiliency.

  • Unique eclectic approach to healing layers of trauma that are impacting our quality of life. EMDR-trained for processing stored trauma and nervous system healing

  • Depth psychology and Jungian approaches to uncover hidden patterns and beliefs.

Currently, I offer phone and virtual sessions to individuals and couple’s, allowing people to engage in deep work from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Many clients find that being in their familiar environment actually enhances their ability to access vulnerable emotions. My clients who enjoy phone sessions talk about they are sometimes less distracted without the screen. I find either to be helpful when it feels right to the client. I take most BCBS and AETNA healthcare plans and provide Superbills for those doing private pay. I look forward to hearing from you.
